The Fabric

What is Minky Fleece?

Minky fleece is a knitted plush fabric with an exceptionally soft pile. It is generally made from polyester fibres and feels smooth, warm and comfortable. The pile can be short and even, while textured, dimpled and other embossed varieties are also available. Dimpled minky is commonly sold in English as dimple minky or cuddle fabric.

Not every minky quality is the same. Pile height, weight, stretch, texture and finish determine how soft, bulky and warm a particular quality feels and which applications it is best suited to.
